The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is one of the most iconic monuments in the world, stretching more than 21,000 km (13,000 mi) from east to west across China‘s northern borders. It constructed over centuries to protect the Chinese Empire from invaders. The wall is made up of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials. and built and maintained by China‘s many dynasties. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination.

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is an ivorywhite marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan (reigned 16281658). to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The tomb is the centerpiece of a 17hectare (42acre) complex. which includes a mosque and a guest house. 

Construction of the mausoleum was completed in 1643 but work continued on other phases of the project for another 10 years.  The construction project employed some 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects. led by the court architect to the emperor, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.

The Taj Mahal is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of India‘s rich history. The Taj Mahal attracts 78 million visitors a year. In 2007 declared a winner of the New7Wonders of the World (20002007) initiative.

Petra

Petra is an UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Jordanian desert. It  built by the Nabataeans in the 6th century BC and known for its stunning architecture and rockcut monuments. Petra  recognized by UNESCO as one of the most precious cultural properties of man‘s cultural heritage and is a major tourist attraction. It included in the list of World Heritage Sites since 1985. Today, Petra is a major archaeological site and a tourist destination, with its many ancient buildings, tombs, and monuments providing an impressive insight into the Nabataean culture and its art, architecture, and engineering.
