John Forbes Nash, Jr. was the son of John Forbes Nash, Sr. and Margaret Virginia Martin Nash.
John Forbes Nash, Jr. (June 13, 1928 – May 23, 2015) was an American mathematician. who made fundamental contributions to game theory, differential geometry, and the study of partial differential equations. Nash‘s work has provided insight into the factors that govern chance and decision–making inside complex systems found in everyday life. John Forbes Nash theories widely used in economics.
Nash was born in Bluefield, West Virginia in 1928 and grew up in nearby West Virginia and Maryland. He attended the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) and Princeton University, where he received his doctorate in 1950 with a dissertation on non–cooperative games.
Nash won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994 for his landmark work on game theory, which is used to analyze economic, social, and political situations. He shared the prize with two other scientists.
Nash died in 2015 at the age of 86. And remembered for his remarkable contribution to mathematics and science.
